Moving Forward

After a lot of thought and consideration I've decided that design two should be dropped (see below)

The reason for this decision is that it isn't as well branded as the other two designs. They are focused on the Stepping Stones more than the feet which I feel is more relevant. It's funny though as I thought this was the strongest design at one point and now I'm not keen on it at all!

Design One
I've developed the first idea further to make it look more professional and also to include the stepping stones as the feasibility study brought out

This is how the design was:

This is how the design progressed:

I decided to use a different baby in the image as the other was too light against the white background. I also used a different foot image that was smoother so the toes could be more like stones. I made them out of shapes and put shading on to make them look more real. This immediately made the design more interesting! Also with the added grey stones it ties in the concept of the feet used in the logo and the stepping stones name. I'm still not sure about the foot image though as it looks a bit crowded and the colouring's not quite right. Plus it looks a little boring with all the white

The added band of turquoise along the bottom really helps to bring more interest to the design. I added yellow borders but think it looks too babyish and a bit too calm! I want it to be exciting and vibrant which this doesn't do yet. I'm much happier with the foot image now though

The soft gradient sides are really soothing yet vibrant and draw the eye onto the main image. Also I've changed the wording of 'Virtual Tour' to 'Take a look around' as I don't want to give the impression of a moving tour through the rooms. Instead it's just going to be images of the rooms

It still seemed a little boxy somehow, so I introduced some rounded edges to soften it. I thought of this as I used them on my Refreshing Web Design website. Having a very wide box at the bottom with the text in didn't look right so I decided to add in another element of colour by using another box for the 'room tour'. Also as the green/turquoise colour in the gradient is similar to the colour in the baby's hood it brings your eye straight to the baby, therefore giving it too much emphasis. I therefore played around with a few different (but similar!) colour combinations

This is the one! I really like the light and airy feel about this design. It's very inviting and also will tie in nicely with the PDF design I produced previously. It's modern yet still simple! All that's left now is to decide how the other pages will look before presenting the two ideas to the client

Design Three
I was quite happy with this design already, so I've just made a couple of amendments to it so it looks more professional

This is how the design was:

This is how the design progressed:

Improved foot images and rounder stones make them look a lot more realistic and professional. I've replaced the blue boxes on the right with the room images so it shows how they will look once the site's built. The gradient behind the text also gives some depth to the design

Just a small change here has made all the difference! The turquoise side panels make the design come to life! It looks much lighter and brighter now and ties into the initial PDF design I created

I'd be happy whichever design the client chooses. I just want to first have a quick check about how the other pages will look and also see if the feasibility study negative points have been resolved by the improvements
