Follow on pages revisited

After some consideration I decided that the follow on pages I designed previously didn't continue the home page design through strong enough so worked on them some more. These are the designs that I created and the final designs I presented to the client on Friday 21st November

Design One

Home Page

Trying the home page design with a Stepping Stones photo but it didn't work at all

Using the foot in miniature form on the page to carry on the branding throughout

Brightening up the picture with a bright yellow box round it. Instantly it looks more engaging!

The balance wasn't quite right, so I tried overlapping the picture with the foot

Still didn't look right, so tried the foot grey and moved it up slightly. The foot almost disappears though so obviously grey isn't the right colour to use

Almost there, just changed it back to blue, but a bit lighter so it doesn't draw your eye away from the main picture. I also added the page name above the tiny stones and I feel it works really well, as if they are leading you to the name!

Design Two

Home Page

Rather than my previous follow on page featuring just plain stepping stones, I used the stones from the home page instead complete with feet and children. It would then be very obvious which website you're on. It looks a bit cluttered though, so some more work to be done

I wanted to echo the home page and have the stepping stones coming from the right hand side. It's only slight here but hopefully enough to keep the branding going. The main image looks boring compared to the stones now though

The yellow outline makes all the difference! I played around with different positions of the stones, but feel that left of the image is the best place to put the stones

Wanted to see if they'd work smaller, but they look a bit odd! As there was now a large amount of white space above the image I added in the page name and some text. I wish I'd thought of that to begin with as it looks a lot better!!

Final design - the stones larger again and coming from the page name and text binds the whole design together. At least now the stones seem to be doing something rather than just plonked on the page for the sake of being there! Much better!!
