First attempt at this design, it's quite bright but not bright or exciting enough

The darker panels on the side help draw the eye in to the main content. I've also created images to go in the feet and colour coded them to tie in with the logo. They're supposed to represent the progression from baby to school age. The winter image hopefully shows that children have fun in all weather

The gradient in the side panels helps to create more interest, however I still feel like it's missing something! The stepping stones image somehow doesn't work for me which is a shame. With the stepped feet it seems to be clashing with the stepping stone circles. Also the colours clash slightly

I much prefer this design. The image ties the colours in beautifully and is very lively and energetic which is the image I want to project. The main white part still looks a little bit boring so possibly needs a bit of work to take this idea forward
Feasibility
Direct costs:
- iStock images: £26.00 (for the home page alone). If I used iStock images for the three room links too that would be extra. I'll probably use their own photos instead depending on how they look
- hosting fees approx £100.00 per year (which I'm covering initially then will receive back in monthly maintenance payments)
Search engine considerations
- This design is a lot more straight forward, except the four coloured feet. Therefore it would load up fast enough. There is room for plenty of text too which will help the site to get found
Usability considerations
- potential image loading problems as would have to use a png files for the small feet on the right hand side. This has issues as addressed with Idea One
- as mentioned before there is only 5 toes! which means there's no way of easily expanding the website to include more pages.
- There is plenty of scope for growth which is important
Time considerations
- 1 - 2 hours to create the four feet images. This involves using Photoshop or Fireworks to create a png file using clipping paths so the background remains transparent (£35 / £70)
Other considerations
- I would imagine the other pages would have a similar feel to them, therefore keeping consistent
